During the cooking course, you will stay in a charming villa, lovingly restored to retain some unique original features, including the floors and beams. It is perched on top of a hill and has breathtaking panoramic views of gently rolling hills, covered in vineyards and olive groves. The view from the pool and garden is towards the captivating medieval city of San Gimignano.

The accommodation

All the rooms in the villa have views and retain interesting original features. They have high ceilings and are full of light. All have private bathrooms with showers. The villa has belonged to the same family for several generations and was the manor house for a farming estate. The cooking courses will take place on-site, in a well-equipped ground-floor kitchen. We generally eat just outside on the terrace, with gorgeous views of the garden and across the neighboring valleys.

Sit and relax in the pretty garden under the shady pergola. Or lie by the pool with its stunning views. You are free to use the kitchen any time you might possibly want to prepare a light snack or meal or to make yourself tea or coffee. Please note that this is self-catering accommodation (similar to a holiday rental) so there is no daily maid service for your rooms, although there will always be people on hand should you need something.

A cooking course for everyone

The weekly cooking course price includes accommodation based on two people sharing a double room with a private bathroom. Some beds can be made up as twins, while the others are queen-size beds. We have space for two solo travelers to join us each week.

The villa is quiet, comfortable and airy and is in a perfect location to explore the area. There is free Wi-Fi internet access so you can keep in touch with family and friends.

There are beautiful walks to be taken near the villa, where you can observe and photograph some unique Tuscan flora and fauna. Twenty minutes’ drive will take you to some of the most beautiful and unspoiled medieval villages in the area. Walking through the shady streets of Certaldo or Barberino Val d’Elsa, you can imagine what life must have been like in rural Tuscany hundreds of years ago.

We had an outstanding and thoroughly enjoyable time. It was a perfectly balanced week and Shilpa, Riccardo and the rest of the team made us all very welcome and gave us a wonderful, hands on cooking experience set in the magnificent Tuscan countryside. What rounded off the week was the fantastic mix of fellow cooks enjoying cooking and socialising together.

Where do we start? Prior to our week, communication between Riccardo and us regarding trip details was superb. The week was magical! We learned so much and enjoyed every moment! Shilpa and Riccardo are terrific hosts. Sere, and Arturo were so helpful in our understanding of Tuscan food, cooking, all things olive oil and wine of the region. Our hearts are full and we are forever grateful
